The REAL Deal (according to our sources)
Mariska is a product of a true hollywood storied family. Her mother was very famous and a well-known Hollywood A-list actress. Her celebrity was almost comparable to Marilyn Monroe in the 1950’s. Jayne had 3 marriages and 5 children. Mariska was a product of her second marriage. Hungarian bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay was her father.
She has grown into her own celebrity and established a successful career in the entertainment industry. Her role on Law & Order has led to an Emmy and Golden Globe. Mariska has continued to build an identify somewhat removed from her very famous mother. There have definitely been comparisons to Jayne throughout her career but Mariska has maintained she wants to have her own work speak for itself.
While working on Law & Order, she met the writer/producer/actor Peter Hermann. The couple was married in Santa Barbara in 2004. They welcomed their first child August Miklos Friedrich Hermann in June 2006. Later in their marriage, they also adopted two other children.
The family hasn’t been as close as some other famous half siblings but when Jayne Mansfield was honored with her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, all of her children and family came to show support and appreciation for the women that helped pave the way. Her oldest daughter Jayne Marie Mansfield and Mariska were thrilled to finally spend some quality time together and catch up.
